88 na can i take ac off and leave ps?

like the question states can i take the ac off and leave the ps on since i dont use the ac and cuz im tryin to shave some weight

Sure. The AC compressor comes off with 4 bolts. The PS has its own drive belt, as does the compressor, so there's no interaction between PS and AC operation.

just unplug your power steering if your worried about taking it off. Thers a little thing under your steering wheel that is a metal box. if you unplug it, it unplugs your power steering.

I did. Its a little harder to get to the AC bolts with the PS in the way, but not impossible.

I did the same. It was a major pain getting to those lower bolts and even more so because one of the previous owners removed the oil cooler thermostat and put it back on w/o the copper crush washer so there was a ton of dirt laced oil residue all over everything from the constant drip drip drip (it never left oil on my driveway though .)
