88 GXL running like lawnmower and lack of power

Hey, so I just rebuilt my S4 NA and I have a large streetport on the exhaust with a CorkSport "Power Series" header and hollowed cat, it ran fine right after the rebuild then had an electrical issue where it would dump voltage reference. Fixed the issue and now everytime I try to tune the timing in or start it up it sounds like a lawnmower, is flooding, and has low power. I've been trying to figure everything out for the last couple weeks and I would like some insight or advice, thoughts/ opinions.

So here are the good things, it has even compression sounds when I crank it so the rotors aren't blown, and the compression feels good. To my knowledge I'm getting spark and fuel because it runs high rpm during free revving and sounds about right, but all the low end is giving me hell and can't get it to idle and have hell getting it to start. I also have a toggle switch for my fuel pump.

Also last night I took it for a test drive, when it got warmed up it died out and didn't want to start and was turning over slower than normal. The exhaust get's hot really fast and the alternator gets hot enough I burned myself on the casing just by setting my hand on it.

Id say double check your ignition timing

I keep reseting the timing to stock and even adjusting it a little here and there, and I've pulled it and checked it by moving it to the next tooth and dropping it back in. So far it hasn't gone back to normal. But thank you for the response. If need be I can make a video and post exactly what it's doing and how it sounds

So I just went out to make a video and when I tried to turn the engine to adjust the timing again, well, I couldn't turn it by hand anymore, which means something was probably out of spec, such as endplay, and the engine is fucked. So at this point, I'm probably going to let it sit for awhile and work on getting a new frame for my motorcycle, and then start messing with my 7 again.

Was the car in gear? The engine isn't going to turn if it is.

No, because I had to get it towed home last night after it died on the way back from taking somone home. Just checked it again and it's in neutral. The starter turns the engine over slow, and I loosened the alternator about 10 mins ago to make sure it hadn't seized and the small wire grounded on the front lift post and blew the 80amp main. So I'll grab another one. But I also talked to Ben aka Rotary Evolution and I'm gonna pull the front cover and check everything. I'm pretty damn sure the endplay isn't correct/ within spec and is causing the current issue, or the flywheel isn't tightened within torque spec. Those are the main two things I'm leaning towards. Because I didn't have a dial indicator to properly measure endplay when I rebuilt it and a changed the E-shaft, and complete front assembly, so it could be slightly over and pinching a thrust needle bearing.

Well can tell you from personal experience that it ain't the flywheel nut. I've had one of those come loose and it causes lots of vibration and horrible noises but it didn't affect how it ran.

Cool, didn't think it would be the issue just considered it a possibility since I lacked the knowledge, but thanks for the input. I'll get the front cover pulled this week while it's in the car. Does anyone know if the oil needs to be drained for that process or is it something to do as a precaution.
