88 GXL not starting
Cant seem to get my rx7 to start lately. Happened about a month ago when I was sick for 4-5 days in bed and wasnt able to run it. I came out after that was gone and it wouldnt start? It turns over fine and the starter is working but there isnt even one sign of ignition. I checked the fuel pump which works, have yet to check the spark plugs to see if they spark but this had happened once before when I left it for a week without running. Then one day it finally started? I know the coils are good, tested the resistance out and they cleared but I dont know what alse it could be?

i would check compression because it may be flooding from low compression or leaky injectors causing it to not start after siting for a few days. have you tried deflooding it? i would also check to see if its getting spark since you say you havent checked that. but it sounds to me like its flooded

Would the seals be leaking or just the injectors themselves? If thats the case Ill order some new oem replacements. Also which way would you go about de-flooding it? By removing the EGI INJ fuse and cranking it for four 15 second intervals with time lapses in between or would you do that with the spark plugs out aswell?

when deflooding the engine you should do as you stated take the egi fuze out and crank for 15 seconds than stop repeat this 2 or 3 times and then put it back in if it still dosent start i would repeat but with the bottom spark plugs out but when you do this i would make sure there were no open flames or ignition sources around because puffs of unburnt fuel will come out also if there arent any puffs/small clouds of unburnt fuel coming out this might indicate that you arent getting fuel. also i wouldnt buy new fuel injectors i would recomend just taking them out then taking them to a shop to get cleaned this should fix the leaking if it is leaking injectors also couldnt hurt to do even if it isnt leaky injectors it would unclog them from overtime use and might even free up a few lost ponies.

take the spark plugs out dry them off if there soaked with gas then crank the engine with them out and with the fuel pump fuses out until its deflooded. Then put 1 teaspoon in each of the 2 bottom spark plug holes - 20w-50 motor oil. Reinstall the plugs, and fuses and check your sub-zero start fluid to just in case. If it does not start after that its either engine beat or a fuel injection system issue, maybe a clog somewhere from sitting.

any one correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure you should actually just get rid of the sub zero starting system i believe that mazda told the mechanics that when people bring their car in for service to remove it because it actually increased emissions. i am not 100% sure if i were you i would search it but to answer your question no i dont think it would cause the car to act up but again i may be wrong since this is a subgect i have not done much research on.
