88 engine swap trouble

Well the first motor i had in this car lost compression (10-10-25,0-20-0). Its an '88 NA So i needed another motor. I replaced the motor with another motor i had bought that i thought was out of an '88 NA. After doing the swap the motor would not start. I checked spark. All 4 plugs were sparking and were replaced just to make extra sure. I have check fuel pressure. I have injector resistance. I have check crank angle sensor resistance. I have checked compression (80-90-80,80-90-80) Not great but i could start the old motor and the motor hasnt been run in 2 years so i was thinking it might improve as soon as i got it running. I can spray starting fluid into the intake and it will run off of the starting fluid. I notice that on the drivers side of the motor there is a vaccuum solenoid that mounted on the old motor that no longer has holes to mount to on the newer motor but it still has the same connector. I am lost at what to do now. Could i possibly have the wrong year motor and that would cause it not to start? Or is it still something with this motor. Thanks

Fuel lines crossed AT the engine. Swap hoses AT the engine.

Tried that. Then found diagrams and followed hoses and realized I had them routed properly.
