Angry 88 engine in an 89?

Well, my day has gone right to hell in a handbag, I figured out the alleged 89+ engine I had dropped in my car, was really an 88, so, I'm now stuck with the problem of trying to hook up the 88 engine to run in the 89. I've heard of people doing S5's in s4, but never the other way around. Anybody know how hard this is going to be? I'm thinking about just selling the damn car, I'm tired of not being able to drive it because people either rip me off or lie. Any ideas?

the biggest thing i could think of you would have problems with would be the intake having to port the motor to get it to fit im not to sure though about all the air fuel mixtures and electronics of it though shouldnt be that big of a deal but im still learning myself my sister has an 89 and want to put a 88 motor in it so let me know if you do it and how much trouble you run into. Thanks,Dave
