88 to 89 model engine swap engine question

88 to 89 model engine swap engine question

ok i have a engine that is a 88 model . my car is a 89 vert the engine i acquired is a 88 and only has 500 mile on a fresh rebuild. what do i need to swap over to get this engine in my 89? computer etc ?

Basically, you need to swap EVERYTHING attached to the basic block from the 89 engine (even the front cover and OMP) onto the 88 block, and block off the EGR valve. I think there might be a tiny bit of grinding on the block to get it to fit, but I cant remember. There is a full writeup on www.rotaryresurrection.com in the tech section.
