87TII Brake Comparison between Series and lots of ?'s
Just wondering if the size of the disk changed between S4Turbo and S5 Turbo. I think the S4T are 10.7 and the S5 are 10.9.. That really pisses me off because im getting a S4 turbo soon because of the deal im getting but nothing about the S4 is better than the S5 in any way imaginable except for the fact that its like 100lbs lighter woo hoo.
For 150.00 blown its a deal I cant pass up lol.
Should I convert this to all S5 stuff or is it not worth it?
I would need the body parts and full S5 Interior. Then ofcourse the S5 Engine.
Is the tranny a big problem with the S4? I know the throw of the shifter is 1/2 inch longer or something but what about the feel exc?
Its my project car so ya slowly but surely. Money is an issue hehe.

Is there a reason you want all S5 stuff? Sure they made some changes but there are plenty of S4's out there making a lot of power. Just fix things when they break.

The answer is found in the options and standard features thread/sticky at the top of the page...
But no both the S4 and S5 4 piston front brakes used a 10.9 inch rotor, while the rear vented rotor was 10.7 inch.
Occasionally you see someone who did a swap and mixed up rotors, and puts the 10.7 on the front instead of the back.
But the 86-90 GXL, 86-87 Sport, 87-91 Turbo, 88 GTU, 88-92 convertible, and 89-90 GTUs, all used the same exact brakes and brake rotors. That would be again, 10.9 inch 4 piston vented front brakes, and 10.7 inch single piston vented rear brakes.
And as most people can tell, the S4 cars will be lighter, better handling, with less cost compromises than the S5 cars.

Mainly I dont like the S4 because of couple extra emmisions. Shitty ECU with the flooding and the UGLY UGLY outdated interiror and exteriror. Thats why I wanted to convert. Also the S5 engine is stronger so is the turbo with its dual wastegate exc exc the list goes on. I hate S4 but hey 150 bucks I think it will be worth converting it.
