87t2 CRASH.....

Well 4:30am going to work on Friday there was a sailboat sitting in the middle lane of the highway. Saw it last second doing 120k swerved left to miss it ran over all kinds of debri (oh no my tires) then saw the other two cars on the fast lane shoulder (totaled from smashing the sailboat and eachother) turned right to miss them (didn't want to kill them) and because of all the debri my rx7 started doing 360's and ended up skiding backwards across the to the slow lane where I cut in front of a tracter trailer.

The truck nailed me behind the drivers door sending me around the side of the truck. scraping down the *** end down the whole side of the trailer. The back end was completely under the trailer as the edge was cuttind into the hatch right behind my head. Finally the rear wheels of the trailer smashed my rear drivers wheel chucking my car out in 360's. WOW! And all I have is a stiff neck and shoulder and a cut elbow! But as for my origanal paint 87t2....GONE.....The most painful part was getting the horseshoe out of my ***.

And its all some old guys fault that doesn't know how to tie a boat down. OH and get this the transport that ran me over didn't even stop!!!!!!! There still looking for him.

Jim

Sounds like you got away lucky!!! Nothing like having your car jammed underneath a transport.

Hopefully they can find that idiot that kept driving, WTF!!!!!!

I didn't even know it was a boat, just something big. I did all that swerving because I didn't care for a dead stop. The first thought I had was 1. oh my car 2. oh **** 3.that can be fixed 4. that hert 5. just hang on the cars gone anyway. I have pictures of the car but I'll have to get my girlfriend to scan them from work tomorrow. I don't think I could find another T2 around here. I've only seen 2 in 2 years. I travelled to get that one.

That's only 75 MPH or so...nothing reckless. I am glad to hear you didn't get hurt too badly. Good luck finding another car.

Dude, not to make jokes at your expense, I'm glad you're ok and all, but when you said a sailboat appeared out of the darkness, all I could think of was "Iceberg! Dead ahead!"

that sucks man.. yeah it seems that you can USUALLY jerk the wheel once in one direction and not spin, but if you try to jerk it back another way, you're going to be facing from whence you came...

Save the pics to your computer, then attach them to a post on here. Or, you could email them to me at
!eww@mail.adp.iastate.edu and I will do all of that for you...assuming my work email lets them through.

Ouch. That's a shame. Any word on the driver of the truck yet? At least you got out of there OK.

I'd love to buy it back that car was awsome. I had a total of $6000. into it (including buying it and mods) Bought it from a guy out in the country(dirty) spent a few weeks cleaning and buffing it and fixing all the little things. This car was never winter driven. Oh and the fin I just had put on, My gilfriend bought it for me for christmas.(WHOOPS!!)
