is it a myth? in my 7 when I ran 93 the under hood temps were way higher than usual. IIRC 93 burns slower and is more resistant to detonation under higher compression (or boost) so in theory am I right? or has anyone else noticed this with 93 on an N/A?

Yes, the burn rate is independent of the octane rating.

93 octane is more resistant to detonation than lower octane fuel, but it does not necessarily burn slower. There is a difference between burning and detonating.
