87 v8 swap qs
i myself hate v8 swaps, thus said i am looking into buying a v8 swapped turbo 2.
my reasoning being that i can save this turbo 2 and maybe put in a turbo engine later on.
that aside its not wired to the engine yet, whats involved in wiring this v8 to the turbo 2. also this car has no radiator, would i need to find the ford thunderbird v8 radiator or could i use something else instead.
thanks oh yea its for 1000 but im thinking of trading my 96 windstar for it

there are forums for V8RX7's.
NOpistons.com..
If you are expecting to get alot of Info on the subject Here,in Rotary Land,,you have been smokin too much Ganjah man!
although there is a sub-forum on Other engine conversions,.put down the Bong and rub your eyes..haha..
I'd actually think about an "other engine Swap"..only IF I got Royally Pissed at the Taco machine under the hood..But,I seem to figure it out eventually.

Integrating the V-8 harness into the Mazda harness is actually quite simple.
The ECU will need a switched and an constant +12v and a ground.
The ECU will also provide the signals for speedo and tach and probably the fuel pump as well.
And that's about it.
Depending on your transmission, it may not allow for a mechanical speedo drive, so you'll have to adapt a different unit- the Integra speedo swap is a popular option.

but i hate v8s and hear they only make 150-200 hp. this is a 5.0 ford thunderbird engine.
dont know much more about it but stock around 215 and like 260 torque, a stock t2 with some mod wouldnt be totally a waste.
i love them much more than a piston type.
