Basically the review is the top 10 cars of 1987, with the rx7 taking 7th place, however they do not say how they where rated.

Motor Trend had an article out in 1989 which tested the 17 sports cars from that year, for 0-60 and 1/4 mile the rx7 was third overall (20th anv Trans am 1st, Corvette 2nd), for 60-0 braking it was rated 2nd (300zx first), and for 200ft skidpad it was rated 2nd as well (Cev 1st).

That's ok, the Turbo II still had the best power:weight ratio of the cars less than 3,000 lbs.
