87 Turbo II having issues starting...

I've got this 1987 Turbo II that showed up at my dealership on Monday but it wasn't running. I got ahold of the keys and it is cranking and occasionally it will turn over and start. The problem is that IF it does "start" it only lasts for about 5-10 seconds in which time it does not respond to the throttle and it kills it self. I checked the spark plugs today and there were 4 leading plugs instead of 2 leads and 2 trailing. So I put 2 trailers in the top positions and it started again for about 30 seconds and then died again. My question is what do you think is wrong?

So....... you work at the dealership and you're trying to fix it??..... but you need to ask here?

note to self. don't take cars to houston mazda dealers for work

probably huge vac leak...

check compression first.

plugs wouldn't matter. run fine with all leading.

I'm a salesman not a mechanic I know how to do minor maintenance due to my late 10th Anniversary. But I'm not expert.
