are they both stock? if so it would be pretty damn even provided they are both running up to par.

Talking

heheh..

since you've obviously got 500 bux to throw around on this race, why not spend it beforehand and make sure you beat 'im Can you say Nitrous? (or N2O... not "NOS" ). A nitrous setup is around 500 bux, and you'd clean his clock with even a 75 shot.

That'd make it a sure thing, and then you'd get a 'free' setup...

Good luck!,
Manolis

They should be pretty close, and you may indeed be a bit faster. According tothis site , you should be runnin' 6.6 - 60 and he should be at about 6.9. With them that close, it probably comes down to who is the better driver.

Have fun

Should be fairly even. Things to keep in mind: If it's a FWD laser, he will have some nice strong wheelspin, and you'll take him off the line if he can't drive. The stock turbos on those cars are puny to say the least, and will generally run out of breath at higher rpms, which will give you a chance to pull him at the end of your gear.

Also, keep in mind they are easy to upgrade. Make sure he's running the dinky stock turbo before you race him, and not a big 16g or 20g.

yeah, watch out for his free mods as well. if he has intake/downpipe along with a homemade MBC (which is VERY popular in the DSM camp) he should be hittin high 13's.

I hope its not a rare shelby. A girl at my work has one and with small tweaks it ran a 14.10. with her brother driving. There supposed to have 270hp or something.

Most likely he's talking about a plymouth laser, its a DSM (eclipse/talon)

Those cars are the best competition you will have stock for stock.

Their Performace is ALMOST the same as a Turbo II with equal drivers, 1/4 mile and all (not talking turns, just straigh line)

It's extremely easy to get a Chrysler Laser to get into the 13's with some simple, hard to spot mods... just to warn ya.

If it's a DSM Laser... those things suck compared to the older Lasers - not as mod-friendly.

Oh ya daytona, whoops. Cayuga had a chrysler weekend with some stock looking 11 sec k-cars and lasers. Oh the things you can do to 2.2 turbo.

If hes willing to put 500 bucks on the line racing in a laser vs a turbo II I would think hes got something hes not telling. Be careful and DONT **** UP YOUR LAUNCH!
