thats what I meant by "But the casing looks different than the NA casing."

The top aluminum casing on the diff in question looks like the casing on the turbo diff but it has the three bolts on top of the carrier like the NA diff.

I don't know I am so confused.

It could all be solved by just trying to bolt the turbo drive shaft to the flange or bolting an axle to the stub. But both the driveshaft and axles are bolted up in the car right now. I plan on removing them along with my old diff on Saturday but I would like to clear this up as soon as possible.

I'm off to find more info and pics between the NA vs TII diff.

Go to this thread. It has a bunch of T2 / NA diff comparison pics. There are measurement comparisons as well if I remember correctly.

To me, yours looks like an NA LSD diff. Both the NA & T2 LSD units carried the same tag so that is not an indicator. The diameter of pumpkin and how far from the top of the aluminum case really looks to be like the NA to me.

I really hope that is not the case for your sake. Good Luck

Yeah it's an NA LSD. Great.

But thanks for pointing that it.

The guy who advertised this as a TII diff should give your money back - all of it.

If you get stuck with the diff, I do know some guys that have interest in the NA LSD unit itself. So you would be able to get back a small portion of the money by selling that.

If it comes to that, let me know.

Okay, he's telling me I should pay to ship the diff back to him and then he'll refund me the money, but then I'm out $150, or he'll refund the $150 for the shipping and I get to keep the busted NA diff.

I'm claiming with Paypal to get the full amount but we'll see how it goes.

If I end up with this diff I will let you know and we can hook up one of your buddies.

Well Japan2LA, I would like you to hold one of those for me, if you can. I am still going to want a new diff but I have to deal with this unfortunate situation first.

I appreciate your offer and I will be in touch soon. Thanks man!!

Look at the bottom of the diff, the NA has a long bolt, the TII does not.

Edit: 86 GXL differentials have the LSD tag also, it is possible that this individual was of the opinion that any RX7 LSD must be a TII.

I got one the same way and was dumb enough to not try and claim it... Just curious an s5 n/a cover does not bolt to an s5 tii lsd does it? I tried to have it welded but the guy wasn't willing to say it was a good weld and quit because he said there was too much magnesium in the aluminum and it expanded too much and also just wasn't a clean strong connection.

i think this is the easiest way to tell -
http://www.v8rx7forum.com/attachment...-ribs-diff.jpg
the NA diff has the fill hole on a rib, the TII fill hole is between ribs.
if you look in the FS ad, the pictured diff is NA. (i thought maybe he sent a different one than pictured, but i guess not)
