87 TII harness in an 88 TII

So I have an 88 TII, and I installed an engine harness in the car from an 87 TII. it has the resistor pack connector on it, so what i did was cut the plug and splice the 5 wires together. I have 800cc secondary injectors. I have resistors soldered in for the 800cc injectors. I put the injectors from the 88 back in the primary spot, thinking it would start with no problem since i spliced the 5 wires together, but im still getting no fuel. I know im not getting any fuel, because out of curiousity, I dripped a tiny bit of gas into the intake manifold, and the car fired right up for 2-3 seconds (until it burned that gas off). Is there something Im missing? If anyone could help me, I'd really really appreciate it.

Are the fuel hoses mounted backward? You wouldn't be the first one to have done that.

I was thinking the same thing, especially since I was using a Jspec fuel rail atfirst(but ditched it because it was leaking at the pulsation dampener), so I swapped the hoses around every few times and still nothing.

only difference i can think of is the injector resistor pack. and thats only if its a later 88 motor.

resplice the resistor pack wiring and try again. Solder the hell out of it.

Make sure the engine isn't flooded and double check your fuel lines.

Also, check and see if your injector connectors are still plugged in properly or if the pins backed out....

I went back and respliced and soldered those 5 wires together like Funkspectrum said and I think I got the primarys to turn on, the car sounded like it wanted to turn on for a brief moment. Do the secondary injectors work during start up? they only come on at a certain rpm right? so If I unplugged my secondaries that have the resistors soldered on, would it fire up and idle?

The reason im asking is because if the secondaries work during start up, I may have it wired up wrong. I have the green Sard 800cc ones, and the connector it comes with, doesnt seem to fit on the injector(which is weird), so I actually had a wire going straight to the prongs on the injectors (i know its a really bad way to do it, I just wanted to get the motor to turn on and idle)
