87 TII, Boost gauge install wont read vacuum....

...not really sure what happened here. But i tee'd off the MAP sensor line almost at the manifold nipple, (wanted to see what the map was seeing) but for whatever reason the gauge didnt read ANYTHING. So then i messed with the connection a little and now it reads about 1 - 2 in vacuum and can read boost while driving.

Is there something strange about the nipple the map reads off of? Or is there something to hose connection? Im going to probably run a new line to map and then tap the diverter valve line. Unless someone knows of a better point of connection.

Also, the car passed echeck with flying colors today!!!

Sounds like your line is connected to the wrong nipple anyway. Feel for one w/ your finger while the engine is running that pulls vacuum (after tb).

I also just recently installed my defi blue racer gauge. Beautifully built electronic gauge, a little pricy but well worth it. If some of you are wondering how the gauge lighting is during the day, its very bright and when you switch the lights on the gauge led's dim. Anyways. I T'd into the MAP sensor as well, and it worked fine for me. I'm reading 20 vacuum (idle problem), and 5.5psi.

i tee'ed it off another port and it works fine now. Something with the map connecting to what i think is the ACV. i doubt its supposed to see vacuum in the first place. Yea for 100 emissions compliant rotaries.
