87' rx7 with custom front end ...should i buy it?

hey guys im new here and i dont own an rx7...yet. But that may change her very soon. My current vehicle is a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage and im just looking for something that is faster and more tunable...something the 1.5L 92hp Mirage is not capable of haha anyways i was on my way home from work today and out of the corner of my eye I saw what looked to be a red porsche and then when I came around and it looked like an rx7. So i park and check it out. Turns out they did a front end conversion using an old amc (i believe he said thats what it was) onto the front of this 87' rx7. The car has just over 80,000 original miles on it. Its a 5spd. Engine is clean (which i didnt take a pic of, ill go back and take one) and the interior is in good shape too. Body is all straight with no dents or major scratches. I just want to know if this is a good deal for $1995. I know the window sticker says $2995 but he said its on sale right now. And about the front bumper...not sure about it thats why im here. I want to hear what you guys think. Thanks.

hey emagdnim like i said the sticker price says $2995 but he says its on sale for $1995 right now. Which is 2g's. So would it be worth it? I dont like the front but I really want an rx7 and this one is really clean, inside and out (aside from the front) I could always do a swap on the front end back to stock or just start out with a body kit. what should I do?

That is so wrong

otherwise, it seems like a good deal for $2000, but you should still get everything checked out to make sure it doesnt need anything major

A new front should be less than $200

Well, the front end conversion back to original would be pricey at best, the work the guy put into it has to be at least $1,000, making it fit, making the headlights fit, all of that crap. But one thing's for sure, it's uglier than me!

thats where im kinda in a bind here...i really want this rx7 but its fugly as hell in the front. also is that the stock hood used or was it modded? i really cant tell as I dont know too much about these cars yet. Because if it is ill just throw down for a aftermarket front end for the time being. Other than that the car is really clean. Ill take more pics of the engine and interior tomorrow and maybe take it to a mechanic to get it checked out.

its odd to think he paid what he did to mold that front end on there and match everything up, and then match the paint up with the rest of the body. who knows... so i probably shouldnt be worried about anyone going down there and picking that up right away. i really want this car though.

because i really want an rx7 that i could play with and this is perfect....i have a 01 mitsu mirage but its slow and hell and im not gonna dump lots of money to make my 92hp 1.5L still be slower than this car is stock. so I want this to play with. ya the front is fugly but it could be changed. Plus its in my price range and its in good condition. havent found a better deal on one yet around here. this is in good condition and the front can be hacked off no problem. i just wanna know if it will be worth it to do or should i just look around. $1995 with 80,000 stock original miles seems pretty decent to me.

Is that front end off a fiberglass AC Cobra replica? I wouldn't drive it, but it is "interesting"...
