'87 RX-7 new part availabilty ??'s.

Hello everyone, this site rocks! I thought RX7Club would be the best place to learn about possibly my next project, a 1987 base RX-7. Here she is..

It's my father's and is in good mechanical shape but has many interior flaws. I want to repaint it & install the FC Aero Package. Then upgrade the suspension, add some light 15 or 16" wheels and finish it off with a Chevy LSx V8 conversion. Blasphemy right?

The only thing stopping me from beginning is not knowing how available new OEM Mazda parts are. How about high-quality aftermarket pieces? The FC RX-7 is a great car, but I will only restore one if I get it to brand-new condition without scouring the globe to find parts.

I drive a '91 Honda Civic and finding parts is very easy. But I want a RWD project to replace the hatch. Here's a pic of the Honda. Click if you care lol.

So what do you guys think? Should I restore the Mazda?

It will be better with a ported series 5 engine with a standalone computer. Or a TII swap.
