While were busting on V6 mustangs, one of my friends has a 2000 Tacoma 4 cyl auto, and another friend has a 95 V6 mustang with CAI. My friend in the Tacoma beat him 9 times IN A ROW racing from a stop. I also bea that same mustang in my moms DOHC Saturn.

as far as getting just palin extra power, i read a post on here about advancing the timing by 20 degrees and it is supposed to give you an extra 20 hp or something.
Youre exaggerating just a little....

one trick i learned from a rx-7 book was to put a bag of ice over the intake manifold before the race. this is supposed to cool the air coming into the engine. And the colder the air the more power you will have. Just make sure you remove the bag of ice before the race. I have never tried this before so if you try let me know the results.
Thats mainly for TII's. Putting ice on the IC works GREAT. I doubt it would do anything for a n/a. N/a engines dont respond to temperature changes like forced induction engines do.

I have a video of my friends 88 gxl beat a 95 GT 4 times in a row
My friend only had my old pacesetter headers, not cats and some crappy crushed bent exhaust with an Apexi lookalike muffler, oh and a cone filter, and slipping clutch wich you can hear in the video.
Let me go find em and I'll post em up.
BTW the mustang had headers and exhaust
So as long as you know how to drive you should kill that crappy v6
