87 n/a tuning question
Still trying to find out if I have a bad injector or just bad tuning. Engine only has 11k miles on it; all stock.
Symptom: shuddering and absolutely no power in 5th below 50mph. Too much fuel? Normal? Anybody have any ideas?
Thanx

pretty normal, your at a realy low rpm at that speed in 5th. does this only happen when you floor it or when you are cruising? remember 5th gear is over drive meaning to cruise at a high rate of speed at a low rpm to conserve gas. at any speed 50 or less you should still be in 4th. i usualy stay in 4th until at least 60 that way 5th doesn't have useable power or realy any advantage. hope that helps

I don't shift to 5th in the TII or NA convertible until at least 60MPH.
I don't have shuttering though in 5th @ 50MPH, but then again I've had my car tuned up, TPS, and exhaust ugprades.
Might gen an engine balance eventually as well.

I kinda thought it was just the low revs...I'll just avoid using 5th until I hit 60-70!
Oh yeah, shud also mention that the cats were replaced with a single cat replacement...still passes emissions in MD!
