87 gxl rear susp in 89 t2???

it was raining today and i lost control of my car and slammed my beautiful 89t2 into a 1 foot curb going 40mph....my rear end is totally fucked up....LSD CV joints the sway bars are bent....most of the damage is on the driverside rear bit it was hit so hard there that it messed up my entire rear suspension.....

heres my question....now i need an entire new rear suspension for my car......will the 87 GXL rear suspen w/ LSD swap out and into my 89 T2??? are there any differences between the suspension?? also would i need a shop to swap it out?? how hard would it be...could the average general knowledge home mechanic do it????...

Yeah they will swap out. But.....you will need to have a special driveshaft made because they are two different sizes and the bolt pattern is different. Also the halfshaft are beefed up on the turbo so what you will end up with will not be as robust. Any local driveshaft place should be able to make a driveshaft for you or if you call Mazdatrix they will have one made for you. Are both cars the same bolt pattern on the wheels? Both four bolt or both five bolt? If your in a bind I'd go ahead and do it with the knowledg that you have to be careful not to abuse the less robust rear end. I don't know of other issues. Maybe the final drive ratio is a little different.

originally i thought the turbo rear end would be quite expensive but i have found some for around $400-500....so i will be buying complete rear end and swap it in....when i hit the curb i bet this probaly threw off my drive shaft a bit too....how much do drive shafts cost?......then i also hear that the 3rd gen torsen diff is much stronger than the T2 do you know if that will swap in easily ......i figure if the entire rear is being replaced i might as well beef it up with upgrades .....ill most likely replace all the bushing with poly ones....anything else i should do before i swap it in??? what tends to get weak on the rear end so i can replace now when its not on the car???
