86 rx7 owners thread

hey ive noticed its a bit harder to find parts for 86 FC's, alot of sites have parts for second gens, but most start at 87. So how about everyone with an 86 FC post a pic of their car, their mods and where they got their parts. I dunno if this would be a big help for alot of 86 owners, but it be a big help for me, thx.

ps ill post my car when i get back from driving, its all stock though, later

My 86 Mutt

Here are a few shots of my '86 Luxury Coupe (base with air/sunroof)

Where it started:

And Now

http://www.terminalfear.com/main/RX7...4/DSC00056.JPG

You'll have to click on that last one. Out of respect for the guys in this part of the forums, I'll not hotlink it, and don't ask questions/comment here, if you wanna talk about it (the last pic) take it to PM.

My mod list (excluding that last picture)

1986 Base with Luxury Coupe Package
1988 GXL Interior
1989 Turbo II Suspension (struts, springs, sways, control arms, hubs, brakes)
Energy Suspenion Polyurethane Bushings throughout
DTSS Eliminators
S5 Tilt Wheel
S5 Center Console
Super Secret 16x7" Infini-style Wheels (not on in the pictures)
YourSport Spoiler (not on in the pictures)
Modified S4 front bumper (not on in the pictures)
H4 Headlight Conversion

The obvious under hood stuff, but as I said, take it to PMs boys. Icemark'll have my ***

Most parts that claim for an 87 and later only models are for Turbos only.

The 86 non turbo pretty much used the same parts as any other 86-91 non turbo coupe.

Well heres mine, it's all stock except for a panasonic deck. Those photos were taken the day before i bought the car, the stock power antenna was taken out and replaced by a cheap rubber one for now because it was broken and held in with a screw. Also since those pics someone dinged my door in a parking lot leaving a nasty scratch in the drivers side door. Thats pretty much it for now, been saving up so I can afford to do more work on her.

O yea also, me and my dad are replacing the bearings in August when we both have some time off work.

Hah! I was gonna say I have those old wheels still and my car is that color. Of course, the wheels don't fit the 5 lug now so they are up on the shelf..

I won't go into details either about the powertrain. But I've done a complete TII 5-lug swap, new driveshaft, new wheels, racing seats, Autometer guages, B&M Pro-Ratchet shifter, fuel cell, Optima red top in the passenger bin, added a TII spoiler, S5 taillights, taken out the A/C and radio, upgraded to an aluminum Summit radiator, all MSD, and tons of other stuff

Sorry I just reread the first post - about a "pic" not "pic(s)"

Ya know, I'm not typically a fan of the wheels you have on your car Joey, but that just look damn fantastic on yours. And yet again... I like that color... And your choice of propulsion.

edit: And by the way, you don't have a base model, the sunroof means it's a Luxury Coupe. hehe

I don't have any pics right now. But it looks stock.

Color-blue with the hood, RF fender and front bumper faded-crappy repaint
mods- racing beat cat replacement pipe, dual carbon fiber tips
turbo II wheels
custom front lip
interior stock- with clarion proaudio deck
JL audio speakers in stock locations

I'll try and get pics soon.

Joe

Man, I had no idea. It has manual windows and manual steering. It used to have AC and it has the sunroof, that's the ONLY options. Shouldn't it have had some other options to be called the Luxury Coupe?

LOL. same EXACT feature set I had. Yup, Luxury Coupe. Apparenty Mazda and my own idea of luxury are a little different eh? LOL. I added remote start and power door locks/keyless entry to mine though.

Driftsesh, you have a red one with a short throw shifter? I think I know you.
