86 RX-7 N/A Injector Help...

Hey,

I am about to aquire an 86 N/A 7 in trade for a set of 390 cylinder heads and I have a question about the problem the owner says it is having.

Now, I have not physically been able to work on the car yet but this is what he said it does:

its having some engine problems the fuel injectors wont pulse. you can mess with the ground wire and get them to pulse and start
Any ideas? just trying to get a head start to see what it might take to fix the prob.

Mike

The grounds for the ECU and therefore the injectors, is located on the top of the rear rotor housing. Fix the ground OR go to the ECU with your meter and check each of the ground wires at the PLUGs for less than an ohm resistance with the key to OFF and the plugs disconnected from the ECU. Check the pure black wires at the PLUG. Two on the smallest plug, one on the middle plug.
