86 parts car questions
I have an 86 FC auto n\a for parts it has 75,000 miles on it. I know nothing about it except I got it from an auto body shop.
It has been on fire in the front I assume this is from the fuel dampner. Questions I have are......The motor got so damn hot it basically melted everything, intake radiator fan, and most of the front bumper.
Should I get the engine? Or was it to hot? My car has 155,000 miles on it and who knows how much longer it will last and considering I plan on turbocharging it this is probably a good idea. However if it got to hot its pointless.
2nd question, am I able to drop the motor and tranny out in one piece from under the car? I have never looked under my car to see how difficult a task this is.
The thing is so badly melted and filthy I would rather raise the car and unbolt the K-member and trans mount and lower all at once. This way I can just cut what wires have not melted and minimize the mess.
One more question, I have heard people say that the auto's driveshaft wont fit a manual but, I have heard people say that it will because they have done it.
Has anyone here gotten a auto driveshaft to work with a manual tranny?
Thanks in advance for your answeres.
