86 N/A Woes
Ok So I have an 86 N/A GX. I receintly Swapped in an S4 Street Port. Retained the stock EFI manifold except my Lower has everything blocked off and the 5th and 6th port actuators removed. Basically Stock.
Timing is set properly, All equipment and sensors found a home.
When I start it, if it starts, It runs for like a second then dies. Receintly It would run at 3000RPM and higher, but would stall below that. I found a home for some sensors and hoses it seemed to solve that. Now it wont even run at all. I have a fuel cut switch so its not flooding. I AM running Premix . The Ratio should be the correct ratio. But I can't seem to figure it out. When it starts, throttle does nothing to keep it going. Fuses are fine. Compression is good. Fluids are good.
Anyone have any Ideas?

Its got Spark, Fuel, the CAS is lined up with the timing marks on the pulley. I suspect that I could have put the pulley on wrong so I might try it 180 Degrees or at 90 degree interverals. AFM is plugged in. O2 sensor plugged in.
Like I said, it cranks - Starts, jumps to 1500RPM then instantly dies. It it does start at all.

My buddy's rebuild did this a little while. Make absolutely sure you are getting spark and that all your ECU connectors inside the cabin are tight. We went through hell trying to find the source of the problem you are describing and it turned out to be a loose ECU plug. I thought I had plugged it in tight, but I had only got one side of it in.

The main pulley is keyed - you won't have it on at a goofy angle unless you don't have the key in it.
Double check the AFM & TPS connectors.
Also, have you tried fiddling with the timing (or checking it with the CAS cover off)? If you're badly out of whack on the timing, it might not run properly. You should be able to eyeball it close enough to run though...
You have an 86, so assuming stock ECU, you can pull trouble codes from the ECU via the diagnostic connector in the front driver's corner of the compartment with some LEDs. I don't have the link off the top of my head, but there are directions for reading trouble codes. I'm willing to bet if you check them, you'll find that the ECU is missing it's input from something important (or getting a weird signal).
