Someone explain this to me... I'm so sad that I think I have an Open Diff even though I'm supposed to have an LSD... help me pls

never owned an S4 GXL though it is supposed to have a clutch type LSD. however the clutch type LSD differentials do get soft and will freewheel when they get tired. my S4 TII is almost to the point of being an open differential.

Raise the back, spin one wheel. If both wheels spin in the same direction, lsd, if not then you got a one tire fryer

Also if the fluid has been changed and no "locking" fluid put in, its a one wheel peel until you do

most off the shelf fluid now is API GL5 certified which is fine for clutch type LSDs.

it is the viscous S5 LSDs that are a bit more touchy about the fluid.
