Unhappy '86 FC Fuel Pump Relay Issue?

Hey all, fresh Turbo S4 FC owner here.
Car was purchased after sitting for two years, replaced all fluids, cleaned up the sparkplugs (look fine) and chucked some oil in the holes while I was there, as per numerous guides on the topic. Previous owner had a fresh fuel pump put in there.
Ignition on - could hear the fuel pump whirring away, however in doesn't actually stop after a few seconds like a typical car.
Cranked - no start
Took the intake off and disconnected the fuel pump, sprayed some aerostart in there while cranking and it was trying to fire up which leads me to believe compression is okay, just didn't have enough fuel to get going from the aerostart.
Tried with fuel this time, immediately flooded chamber with fuel (according to mechanic mate), so it has no chance of starting up. We believe it has something to do with a fuel pump relay or something similar, as there are three wires (brown, black, white - pic attached) hanging down near the steering column not connected (likely previous owner) or potentially stuck open injectors.

Was just looking for some direction on the matter/anyone encountered similar. Cheers all.

The first thing I would do is apply direct power to each injector see if its even cycling. Manually cycle the injector with power and ground and listen for the injectors to click with each power application. Often times on an FC after its been sitting for so long the injectors stick and will not operate. Leave the fuel pump alone for now. Ensure that there is no jumper wire placed in the yellow check connector by the right side strut tower. Having a jumper wire in that check connector will cause the fuel pump to operate constantly any time the key is in the on position.

I've seen people put a jumper wire in the fuel pump check connector and leave it. Pretty scary stuff. Glad you found the issue. Does the pump work normally without the jumper in place?

Very late reply which I apologise for, got super caught up in life.
Took the jumper off and gave it another go, - it lived! Had no throttle body on there so it revved straight up, oops.
Put the intake/throttle back together and gave it another go, and it started again. Could only be kept going with some coercion from the throttle. Very, very rough.
Turned it off again as mechanic said it sounded flooded/way too much fuel in there.
Disconnected fuel pump and tried to start it again to deflood, then when we recreated the previous circumstance it wouldn't start.
Tried everything we had previously and it still won't start.
The top set of injectors were tested and they were fine (I think they're the secondaries that come on on boost? if so ill have to test the ones under next time, ran out of time )

Upon a little more research I'm lead to believe it's had a S5 engine swapped into it due to the injectors being red when pulled out and they stock intercooler mounting points being different heights (apparently a S5 engine thing?)
Not too sure if that makes a difference but hey.

Any further ideas would be much appreciated, cheers
