86 / 88 are the dash wiring harnesses different...?

I took a 86 TurboII that was hit in the rear and a 88 TurboII that was hit in the front and made one car. Everything from the 86 went into the newly fixed body except the dashboard, which is 88. I crank the key and get no fuel pressure. I tested the plug in the back that connects to the fuel pump and no power. The 86 car ran great before I swapped everything out..... So I'm thinking maybe the 88 dashboard / dash harness might not be exactly the same / compatible w the 86 everything else.....??

I can think of no difference that should cause this. Although, I've never seen an '86 TII, so I can't say with 100% certainty. Considering how big of an undertaking all of that would be, you're in for a world of headaches trying to track it down! I'll see what I can do to help:

First things first, have you tried at least jumpering the fuel pump test connector under the hood and see if you get voltage after that? Also, fuses?

Check the B/W coming to the circuit opening relay. If that looks good, stick something into the AFM flapper door to hold it open and check the L/R wire. Then follow this over to the fuel pump relay, and see if you're still getting power. Check both L wire's coming out for power, it should either read around 9-10v or battery voltage. See how far that gets you and report back.

Wouldn't matter if what he said was actually true and *everything* from the 86 went into the 88, minus the dash harness. So long as the engine harness and resistor pack are moved along with the injectors, it's of no consequence.

Today I did find power at the fuel plug coming off the rear harness, which is 1986.

The tank and pump off the Doner chassis was from the 1988, which as the story goes has been sitting since 1989 when the original owner had the accident and it has been sitting since. Suprisingly the tank was full of old gas as well....!! Is that even possible....??

I swapped out tanks and fuel pumps today from the 86 and as soon as pressure rose to 30ish she started right up. I will post back if I have electrical gremlins from the 88 dash w the 1986 everything else. .

Thanks guys.

Sonic... Re read Post #5, second sentence. 1988 TurboII, accident in 1989, stored since. Mileage is VERY low. Clean car fax ( no accident reported) I made sure everything was done RIGHT. I now have myself an immaculate time capsuled rocket.

Yup, but still an FC.

Wish more people put this kind of effort into saving FD's. Problem is too many people take shortcuts and don't do it right.

Still a beast of a car especially for 1987. If they weren't I wouldn't be here doing it.
Now clutch is toast. ACT replacement:

Ha, wound up being an unadjusted clutch pedal rod under the dash that pushes into the back of the master. So now she has a ACT clutch and pressure plate. The original clutch pedal must of broke in the accident so I swapped it... I should of known.
