77PSI and still run?

I am about to buy a car with a rebuilt engine, only have above 2000 miles on it. The owner rebuilt the engine himself. It has hot-start problems and he said the last time he did a test on it it showed 95psi in the front 77psi in the rear. I do not know when he did the test, I just sent him an e-mail asking, it could have been done right after the rebuild. He also explained he doesn't know how reliable the test was. I just don't see how it could run so well with 77 in the rear. When I test drove it it was smooth, idle was great, and had comparable power to my last TII. So, is it possible to run with that low of compression?

I think you should ask yourself why a rebuilt engine only has 77 PSI in the rear rotor...

Must not have been much of a rebuild.
