Question 6th port

I am kinda new here, and I want to know if I can remove the 6 port sleeves without removing the uim. I only want to remove them because they are not working anyway (the air pump and both actuators are gone) and i know i can't tie them open because the actuator arms are broken off. I want to do this as quickly as possible. Can I take off the lim without taking off the uim? thanks in advance.

No. You need to remove both intakes to get at the sleeves.

Keep in mind that removing the sleeves means a good loss of low end torque, but no high end gains over a properly working system.

My suggestion is to put the air pump back, and then check the archives for info on how to use it to activate the ports.

I bought the car a few months back without the air pump on it and the actuators were stuck closed so i have little top end anyway. I don't have an airpump to put back on and I would have to do surgery on it to fix the broken arms anyway.

if you remove the sleeves, the air flow will be horrible -- as in too much turbulance. Do it right, find some good actuators and an airpump in the boneyard. Thats what I would do. Then you'll have good low end and high end, and pass smog.

Alright. Thanks guys. I love this website. It is great for turd heads like me with little-no experience with rotaries. They are potent little boogers!
