the 6 port turbo. the reason is because of the slightly higher compression. HOWEVER, it would have to be with the same gear ratio. It has to be a GTUs so that it has the 4.10's.

Do people do the 6port swap with a stock turbo????Otherwise the only way to tell would be someone with the same set up.

RoninRx7 is right the 6 port turbo because it has higher compression. From what I was told you can't get a bigger turbo than a stock garrett turbo that the T2 have. I believe why the 6 port turbo would be faster is because it spools up faster (I was told).

T2 is cheaper to do also.

I'm eventually going the turbo'd N/A route but I really wouldnt know. I'm going with the TII just because Mazda made it a 4 port for a reason...also has 3mm apex seals and beefier than the N/A which I guess would handle the boost better. Idk

They have 2MM apex seals, just like every other S4/S5 or FD or 13BRE or 20B did stock.

Man, I got the 6port bug too. After seeing all that Aaron has done with it, I happen to have a spare 6port that I have torn down awaiting measurements and new seals. Not so sure on the finer details though.

You're right...I'm a turbo noob(sigh). So then is that only atkins that sells the 3mm seals for the 13bt?
Or am I wrong again?...

Also..if they all bring 2mm seals from the factory...then I retract my previous statement. That leaves it really at the 4 port vs 6port then.

I have an s4 stock 6 port NA turboed..... I did 184 rwhp at 4 psi with a super heat soaked intercooler... Personally I feel like my NA-T is a better up top then my t2 ( yes I have had both) but there are so many variables...

https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-dyno-128/184-5-whp-s4-na-t-6-port-stock-4-psi-677566/

I also have the whole t2 powertrain.

This is with the stock t2 ecu and fuel pump... I fixed my 4 psi problem and am now at 6.5 feels good.

I really think that without the stock interheater I would be high 190 if not 200s..

i used to have the "OL" 6 port turbo....ran 12PSI on her with the Rtek,550 P 720 S, SAFCII and a wideband...besidesed the N/A exhaust sleeves and my crappy FMIC setup restricting...it moved good!!
i was lucky to have those restrictions since i think i was DAMN close on maxing out the injectors

was it cheaper than buying a TII??
for me..yes..i got all the parts USED and got cheap bent exhaust pipes for the IC, ran the TMIC upfront (removed shrouds) and did alot hacking and a shitty job...it ran great for 2 years though....hella burnouts, constant beatings....untill i got a SLIGHT bigger turbo....BOOOMMMM!!!
stock boost on a TII verse a 6 port turbo running TII stock boost.....6 port would take it i think....

6 port turbo will be faster due to higher compression and more port area. The higher compression spools the stock stock turbo many times faster then the lower compression 4 port engine can.

No. Low compression turbo sucks.

6 port plates are great for turbocharging the ports volume area are as large if not larger than cosmo ports, however with gas prices (reliability) I would go with lower compression rotors 9.4 or 9.0 . 9.7 can and have been done and will work great with low boost and a full stand alone.

FYI

The TII lower intake manifold bolts directly upto 6 port plates.

That's a really dumb question to ask.
