680cc injectors making me bog?!
680cc injectors making me bog?!
Hey guys, i just put some 680cc injectors for the secondaries in last night and i went to test it out and it bogs as soon as they kick in. just mass flames out the back. The flames were awesome but the bogging wasn't. haha, anywase, i have a friend up here that 680's in his car and it ran fine had a bit more power cause of the increase fuel but he didn't have the bogging, any idea wtf is up?

Not sure what "chipped" means on your ECU, but if they tweaked the fuel maps to run richer on the stock injectors, the combination of that and your Walbro could be firehosing fuel into your engine now that you have 680cc secondaries...
Time for that S-AFC.

My friend lent me one of his stock TurboII ecu's so i am gonna swap that in tonite and see if that does anything. And like i mentioned above the walbro isn't installed yet.
And yeah i am also thinking its time for the safc. i already had one but i had to sell it because the funds were rather low. dammit! WHY COULDN'T I KEEP IT!

I am constantly amazed by the number of people who think adding more fuel will make more power. I'm afraid your friend is full of ****. The "bogging" is the excessively rich mixtures killing power, increasing fuel consumption and accelerating engine wear. You make more power by increasing airflow, and providing an appropriate amount of fuel for that airflow.

Yup.
Fuel == no good with out air to go with it.
Your car still thinks it's running 550's so it is working the 680's at the same rate which is putting too much fuel out.
A SAFC will allow you to tune out the spots where 680's aren't needed to work hard.

Yea your just running too rich, there is no need. If you think your engine can handle it, then you could increase boost to give you more air and better performance but with all those mods you should have an SAFC by now anyway. Good luck man!
