60mm gauge into 52mm pod

I already have the dual 52mm Autometer pod, but the gauges I want to replace my Autometer's are only available in 60mm? I know the single 52mm will house a 60mm gauge, but will the dual work as well? Has anyone done this?

It only takes about 2 minutes with a Dremel to open up the pod to hold a 60mm gauge - it's SUPER easy. The finished product looks, works, and fits perfectly as well. I've done it many times.

Buying a 2-5/8" pod for a 1979-1993(?) Mustang will be close.&nbsp 2-5/8" is slightly larger than 60mm, so there's a little gap - warning to those **** people.&nbsp This is easily under $20 with zero grinding.&nbsp Sell the smaller pod to someone else who needs it!

The Apexi EL boost gauge is the first one that's going in there. I'll have to check on the depth, too.

Thanks fellas.....

here's a pic:

I had the exact same gauge in a 52mm dual A-pillar pod from Autometer - fit like a champ. It's not deep at all.

Seriously, it will take VERY minor work to open up the hole for the gauge.

thanks, Dale.

But do you know if the depth will be ok with the Apexi?

Like I said in my previous post, I had the EXACT same Apexi gauge in the EXACT same A-pillar pod. Fit, looked, and worked fine.

OK, another question about the above gauge. I was hunting around in the rx7store and I cam across a control link box for the El Apexi gauges, but the gauges shown with the control box are nothing like the electric gauge that I bought. The store that I bought it from said nothing about a control box, either.

Any clue??

the control box is only needed if you get the electronic version of those gauges.

IF you get the mechanical boost gauge you will not need the control box.

Just read the instruction manual inside your box or go download it from apexi

Sorry, had to ask, but I have no clue how you'd get the 60mm gauge to fit Autometers single 52mm gauge pod? The outer diameter of the gauge seems just too wide for the pod itself?
