Well, today I was removing my tranny to change the fork pivot ball in my S4 T2. in doing so I realized why the reverse lights are on a toggle switch. There was NO REVERSE SWITCH in the tranny. Someone had put a small bolt and a bunch of epoxy in the hole. So I go about finding one with no luck. I did find this though.

OEM Part # 1281-17-640 No longer available through Mazda dealers.

Wells Part # JA4241 (listed in the Wells book as Mazda 1989-91. Looks identical to the switch, but not sure if it is truely the same. Price $119.99 USD. OUCH!

While digging through the threads on here I found that info on this part was kind of lacking. Hopefully this helps someone. As I have yet to find one that I am positive is right, I will update this with any further info I find.

That's the reverse switch mod. It's probably in the archeives. Very similar to the PD mod and about as functional as the PD mod and the Rats nest removal mod.

OH! Or is that supposed to be a capital *M* in mod?
