hey guys i have a quick question. well my car drives very smoothly no rattles or noises untill i get to 5th gear, once a start accelerating when in 5th it makes a rattle and noise from the shifter, but if i put my hand on the shifter the noise goes away. right when i take my hand off the rattle continues. Its super annoying and when i drive i just keep my hand on the shifter the entire time im in 5th gear to avoid me from grinding my teeth. again its only in 5th gear.

any ideas? easy fix? i appreciate any info thanks

 

shifter bushings ever replaced?

 

sounds like the shifter bushing. is it lose when its in nuetral or have some play on it movin it around? could be the return spring as well
