5th and 6th ports.... Yeah

So i talked to my mechanic today Scott over at Mazsport in Largo, FL

From what he told me when i asked about just plain old removeing the 5th and 6th port sleeves is that you'll loose a little bit of tourqe down low (from idle to 3000)

But above 3000 he said everything makes up for the power loss down low. Is this true? I've been thinking about getting the pinapple racing inserts (Which scott said are cute)

But they are really point less. Why put an insert in there, when you can just remove it and get more high end power output

Is this true? I want to get the racing inserts.. but at the same time just remove the stock sleeves alltogether. what do you guys recommend.

Thanks. Markus

To flow better, you might as well as leave the sleeves inplace with pineapple inserts and then just remove the arm that the actuators use so theres no turbulance.

Well the PR sleeve are supposed to make better high end out put because of the better flow and keep the tourqe down low. I would also like to ad that most people I have talked to with out the sleeves say gas mileage goes down.

You should leave them in IMHO. Just make sure they are working properly. I ran my car without sleeves and then put them in, it has noticably more low end and the high end hasn't changed that I can tell. If you add the pineapple sleeves, top end should be at least the same as with none, but you still get the low end benefits. Also, while you have things apart, port match the intake runners. You'll be happy with the results, and there is a write up somewhere on the forum concerning port matching(really easy to do).
