5th & 6th ports opening?

How can you tell if the 5th and 6th ports are opening up? The engine loses power at about 6k rpms and it should still be having some power untill 6500 or so. I think my 6th ports aren't opening as much as it should. My guess is there is something blocking the doors to keep it slightly shut. Is there an easy way of testing it out? let me know ASAP! Thanks!

If it's an S4, you can do the grease trick - put grease on the actuator shaft, go for a drive, come back and see if the grease is pushed out of the way.

If it's an S5 you could rev the engine to 2K and trigger the 6 port solenoid .

But you've no doubt used the search feature to find all this out.

you should be able to hear a change in engine tone past about 3800 rpm. it should sound as if the engine has opened up more.
