Thanks Natey, and trust me, I do search and read. Like I said all new to me, but I'm sure that some day soon, I'll have as much rotary knowledge as you guys do, In your pinky> hehehehehe. Ill let you know how the dogs paws do on the actuators. Sorry for posting so late, but one of the girls finally left. PEACE. RUF RUF RUF RUF RUF

OK Ice, locating the actuators was not real difficult, even for the dog, but accesability to them is limiited. Is it easier to take them off and then check, or do you guys have some special tool, or little kid you rent out, to get in that tight space? Probably east to remove some stuff to get to them, but thought I'd get professionals opinion first. PEACE RUF RUF RUF

Maybe get some heavy latex gloves so you don't get scratched.
Do you have troubles getting to the spark plugs as well???
well if it takes 6psi to open, spray a whole can of carb cleaner through the airpump. The lines are probly pluged. I did this because it needed like 15 psi to open my ports. Now it only takes like 4 max. I did the electric convertion to my ports runs prefect.

I work on hydraulics a bit at my real life, so no gloves. Makes paws sweaty. Sparks plugs and compression test a little tight but managed. The shafts on the actuators arent moving, so I guess the next course is try to remove, and go from there. Right on guys. And Ice, dont say squirmming, sounds feminine. heheheheeh Love picking on him, cause he gives me brain malfunctions. Got an errand to run, then let you know. PEACE RUF RUF RUF RU F
Hey stockrex, you trying to take the spotlight from me bro? Get your own thread! hehehehehe./ Thats a good response to MY PROBLEMS, get your ownnn!!! No seriously, should I be trying this method before removal, or just a waste? Probably gonna take apart anyway. Answered my own question. Try to figure out download pictures of "Daphne", that way for future reference, you guys can just point the arrow for me. PEACE RUF RUF RUF

The air pump is not even connected to the aux port actuators on a 86 (as he says he has) or any 84-88, so spraying a bunch of anything down the air pump would do nothing.
Furthermore there is only a diaphram at the actuator, so you would just fill the diaphram with carb cleaner, not effecting anything that moves.

I love it, get em ICE, get em. I did more research and I trying to get them freed up as we speak. If not moveable in next few attempts, I will start getting out the big boys-AKA 3# sledge and duct tape. Threatened last car with hammer, and it fixed itself right up. Any reccommended type of lubrication once the shafts are freed. Like a dry lube molly, nothing greasy or sticky, of course, your favorite?

MombodogsIt's probably easier to check the movement with the actuators out. They're only held on by two #10 nuts (at least the S4 86-88, anyway). oh, and I think a snap ring on the port rod. If it's still stuck , you're gonig to have to yank off the lower intake manifold to get to them, as there's no way that I know of to lube them from outside of the engine. . They're obviously sealed, as any outside ports would be a vacuum leak. Hrm... then again, i'm not sure how easy those nuts are to get at with an airpump installed... mine got lost years ago.
my guess about mine needing 6PSI is that the gauge sucked. It was when i was still trying to set up the electric activation, before I realized that I just don't need slowed down by the ports at all
now I have nothing there but block-off plates.

Thanks Wonko. I just came inside after taking son to court, and the front actuator rod freed right up. No Hammer, no torch. The rear, however, is frozen like a polar bears salmon on Saturday night. Did more research, but concerned as to how long, with new dog pawing around, will it take to disassemble, clean, and "repair"? Almost 5 pm here, dont want to get stuck. I know that , Ummm, ? whats his face said 20 minutes for him, but Im not going to do this blind. Should probably clean both and repair as needed, since Im going to have apart. Serious, how long for new dog to fix, counting breaks?

I said 20 minutes, but it's because my engine is completely clean of all unnecissaries. I think I also said that you should plan on at least 2 hours or so.. depending on how comfortable you are around it.. might want to plan for a bit longer, maybe wait until the weekend?

Icemark - can ya pls explain what lines are plugged and the right way to check and clean them
Mombo - this thread is all urs bud, :-)
Are you telling me or Ice to put crack down? I don't do dope, Im a ficking pure breed catholic. As previously stated stockrex, in case your mental defects are surfacing again and can't comprehend creative writing, I had 5000 pound hydraulic drill motor crush my foot 4 months ago, so I can play on car endlessly. Just didn't want to do in dark. Thanks for the timeframe though, now you can leave. Anyway, why would one actuator be so frozen up and the other not? What can doggy do ( GET THAT ONE STOCKREX ) so this won't occur again. PEACE RUF RUF RUF
Mombo - Relax man.. Stock Rex was saying "Putting the crack down".. if you scroll up about 5 posts, you'll see Mark's into line on the response was "He is smoking crack about the carb cleaner down the air pump and have it fix anything with the aux port system. ".
As for the actuators, you're working on anywhere from 15 to 20 year old equipment. Your guess is as good as mine as to why one failed
You can tear it apart, or get a replacement (as stated previously).

A.H was a Catholic. And J.S studied for the priesthood. What's that got to do with anything?
Only two nuts and one circlip hold a actuator in. If it's frozen, then take it and spray some lubricant around the shaft and strike the actuator rod on a soft piece of wood. I've used that method in the past and returned the actuator to working condition.
I'm stricly talking about the rod on the actuator that moves in and out, NOT the rod that goes into the manifold.

As always, the dog has firmly planted paw in mouth and head in backside orifice. My appologies to you stockrex, car just has me so wound up. I'm sure you have been there the first few months of ownership. Ok, thanks again all for the information. Will post successful results in the a.m. Again thanks. PEACE RUF RUF RUF RUF RUF
Do not disable the aux ports (another name for 5/6 ports) unless you only drive above 4k rpm. Power will suffer below 4k rpm without working aux ports, unless you have a well ported and aftermarket EMS equipped car.
Mr. 88 IntegraLS, I am not disabling them, one is not functioning. Dog is attempting to repair said non-functioning doohickie, and get his power plant back in cohesive operation for proper flight performance. In human terms, fix the **** so car will run correctly. Oops, dog is at it again. Have been advised by reputable physicians, I should stop chasing after rice boys. Bad for the dogs diet. And bad gas too. Just a finishing touch. Let me digress.

You're a nut man.
I had one aux port actuator not working when I first got my car and the power above 4k was nice but seemed a little disappointed. After I discovered / fixed the stuck actuator and put a nice street port on the engine, problem solved.

Dog Integra, DOG. Not nut. Took damn pain pill for broken paw and missed the sun today. Crap. 24 hours of sleep. Well Wednesday is day of repair. And Integra, if I could drive at over 4000 all the time I probably would. This car is made for driving, not grocery shopping. And I am a little out of adjustment when it comes to my mental facilities, but that is why I so loveable. And that color, ****, Is ugly on that nice recreational vehicle. Please powdercoat. hehehehehehehe. Just kidding. Had to be smart *** for first time today. PEACE RUF RUF RUF
