5th&6th ports

I was checking my 5th&6th ports, and they both opened. The rear aux port would not close unless I helped it back. Is that normal or is there a problem? s5 5th&6th ports by the way.

No, it's not normal for an aux. port actuator to stick open. You can use some spray penetrant to free it up.

You need to remove the lower intake manifold and clean that stuff out. I just cleaned out a set of manifolds that were carbon baked to the point removing the rods for the 5/6th ports ended up in one being broken...

Damn that sucks. I had all of that stuff off for the pineapple racing 6 port inserts, not to long ago. Can you remove the shafts without taking off the upper and lower intake manifolds?

You can, but the question is can you get the rods to grab the sleeves properly when installing them. You can't be sure unless you can physically see the rods grab the sleeves...

You can try to just remove the upper intake and spray some PB on the rod or move it up and down quite a few times until the gunk moves off (no disassembly besides the actuators required for the second part)...

The LIM gasket I have been able to re-use before. I always apply "copper RTV" when reusing gaskets on the surface it is not stuck on for added protection, the gasket is thick... But if it tears you will need a new one

My factory gaskets were not metal, must be an updated design. I wasn't talking about new gaskets since the OP was planning on re-using his old ones...

Every OEM gasket I've used has not been metal. Including those I've bought through Mazdatrix, which as we all know just buys direct from Mazda.

I thought for sure the gasket is metal thats why its so damn expensive. Can you use silicone gasket maker on metal gaskets and have them seal up?
