5k rpm troubles

need a little help/a check list for diagnosing this. A breif history...bought a rtek1.7 and fd pump could never get the car to run right(hesitatons any were above 4krpm). So i put in different rtek ran the same, ran factory ecu and would bog at 3800rpm(i wanted it to do this showed if my secondaries are working). so i bought a walbro/installed it today. my problem, right a 5krpm it hesitates entill i take my foot off, i can put the foot back down but 500 rpm later it does the same thing.

Things to do
*tps adjustment(i do have idle surgeing and afc reads 7.6%)
*check o2 senser(i installed a narrowband senser and it doesn't read lean or rich)
*grounds..which ones should i check?

any input would be great
cameron

your o2 sensor sould read lean and rich and stoich as well.

if it is an oem part that sould atleast take one of those things off of your list.

on the other hand, if you got a sensor that would perposly lie to the computer, then you might have a problem.

the surging idle may not be related, but i wouldnt rule it out. do what you can to fix your idle problem anyway, just one less thing to do when you get your other problems sorted out. it might make things a little easier, wish i could help more,

aaroncake... ice mark....

any ideas?

^ i hooked a meter up a to the o2 senser and i don't get at reading, all the lights light-up and stay on there is no moving lights. I found a while back that if your o2 senser is not grounded properly it will cause high rpm hesitatons.(I'll see if i can't find that post)

If i am not mistaked, the narrowband O2 does not register with the ecu until warmed up... but yea Ice or Aaron could justify my statement.

well in that case it would be good to check yourengine ground, go ahead and get the engine warmed up and then pull a reading. this might also be a good time to get an AFR guage. i got one from auto meter and it has helped greatly with diagnosing fuel and air problems. it helped a lot with fixing my 3800 bog in my na.

good luck

you could also loosen and retighten the sensor itself.
