5500rpm acceleration?

yes i searched for this

i was just wondering, why at 5500rpm does my 91 vert suddenly jump in power? it's not the secondary injectors and i don't think it's the secondary throttle plates (or is it)?

just something on my mind.

I believe that is where the 5th and 6th ports open on those year of motors.

would someone go to the trouble to explain those ports real quick like. i did a search for them but nothing substantial came up. or direct me to a thread that has already been discussed?
also, what's this i hear about removing them or something like that?

i'm planning on doing the whole intake manifold port job and throttle body mod sometime this long weekend hopefully. trying to see what exactly all my options are.

thanks

To put it simple, the 5th and 6th ports open for more power in the upper rpm range. They are operated by vaccuum on your year of car I think. I would say you dont wanna remove the ports, maybe get the Pineapple 6port sleeves that are machined for better flow. www.pineappleracing.com Those alone are known to pick up about 5hp on the top end.
