500 Dollars for a 2nd Gen

Morning everyone, a good freind of mine wants me to take his 91 RX off his hands for 500 dollars.

You say "BS" there's something wrong here. And there is...its backfiring and doesnt have much power, like a piston engine thats not firing on all cyls. I've been told by the mazda dealer that it is the apex seals have worn out.

My question to you, oh pereyors of the rotor. Should I buy this car? I am very experienced in mechanics, and would love to learn how the rotary engine works, and if I can get away with it, rebuild it.

Thats not necessarily the apex seals. It could and could not be. Hell any rx7 is worth 500 to me if its in decent shape body and interior wise.

What model is it?
I wouldn't bother with a base model, but a GXL would be a better buy.
