50 psi of oil at idle... after installed gauge and speedometer screwed?

hey guys i just installed another mechanical oil pressure unit in my car. ( the old one the neddle was below 0 now it stays in about 45-50 in 800 rpms and it goes up to 80 around 5k rpms is this good? also i guess i didnt install teh dash right because the speedometer when it drops it shakes up and down liek it messed up... the cable on teh back of it was so hard to install i was scared i might of pull it to much and brake something...im i suppose to hear a click when its connected? mayeb i pull the cable too hard...? this is what happens it will go up fine to any speed but when I press on the brakes it bounces down and up... u guys think is just loose? could i pull that cable up more or will i brake something?ans is my oil pressure to high?

Oil pressure seems a tad bit high.. mine is at ~30 at idle and ~60 while crusiing. Maybe your oil filter is clogged?

When I installed my speedo cable.. it has a white clip that does snap into the back of gauge.

Your oil pressure will be higher than normal when the engine oil is cold.

When I start mine up it sits around 50 on idle at 1100 rpm and at 3000rpm it's on about 80. Once the oil is warm it sits on the same readings as trainwreck which is about normal.

well mine i sabit high... it sits at 45-50 but it goes to 60-65 at 3000 to 4000 rpms and it goes up maybe up to 90 to 100 at 5k rpms... ( my rebuild engine has 2300 miles.. it has new staionary gear bearings and rotor bearings) it also has a new oil pump chain. I might get a oil change tomorrow and see if it lowers abit. why is it so high?? is it bad?

Just change it.. if it was clogged.. you will notice oil pressure droped a bit.. if not.. well it was worth a shot.. filter is only like $5. And you should change your oil why your at it.

I get 60 at idle as well. But the Oil pellet mod has been completed successfully to my engine. While cruising (3k rpms) i get alittle over 95. it's really great

Your readings are perfectly normal

honestly, if nothing is leaking or exploding from excessive pressure (which it won't be), then you're alright. You can get the pressure up to 100psi + with the right regulator.

High is good (to a point)
Low is bad.

My old oldsmobile at start up jumps to about 50psi and after warming up, it drops to about 20 at low idle and 45-50 on a highway cruise.
