Just to questions in regards to the 5 lug swap

What parts are involoved in the swap? i plan on putting a turbo tranny driveshaft, diff and halfshafts in at the same time

and second question is

When looking at new rims for my car, will i just use the turbo's wheel specs as in offset and max tire size?

Mel you will need hubs, rotors, calipers, and the lines. That and about 5 hrs if you go slow. Its cake.

Just unbolt the entire front spindle with rotor/caliper still attached on the 5 lug car and the 4 lug car. Then swap. You need the front brake lines from the 5lug car.

The rear brakes are pretty much the same swap. You need to remove the spindles first and the retaining nut for it will require a breaker bar and probably a long pipe for added leverage. The brake lines are the same in the rear for the 4/5 lug units. Might just be easier to drop the entire rear subframe from the beginning as you plan to swap out the diff anyway. Good time to replace the front/rear suspension with polyeurathane bushings *hint*.

I have a set for the rear if you want them. Used but in good condition. $12 shipped. I can send pics of you are interested. Just sitting collecting dust in my tool box.

Of note: I swapped over from 4 to 5 lug system like you plan on doing. At that time my mastercylinder took a dump on me. If you can't build pressure in the system while bleeding it ..... this is most likely why. Seems to be the old MC's are very fickle and fail when the fluid/pressure is released.

Good luck.... should take about 1 day to do everything. A helper to do the rear diff swap/subframe removal will help a lot. *hint*

True... he COULD get a custom driveshaft made to connect his TII tranny to the NA differential. It would cost a lot more though.

And TRUST ME, it's easier to swap the entire rear subframe assembly with the whole differetial, halfshafts, hubs, etc. than to take it apart and put it together.

(done it!)
