5 lug swap question.

I did a little search and found some good research info on this subject but wanted to make a thread to end all thread about 5 lug swaps. The reason I bring it up is because I'm accumulating enough cars that have 5 lugs (not pulled or anything yet) and I want to be able to PROPERLY market them on sites and craigslist and what not, but I guess what my question is, is What would make a good checklist for parts to include in these two categories:

FB Cars-First and Foremost, can our 5 lug setup be used on those cars, because through some of my searching on this site it doesnt appear as easy as just a simple swap. If at all.

And then the 4 lug FC cars. I have a couple '86 owners inquiring about kits here locally, but they basically want EVERYTHING all included that would be necessary to make the swap happen.

Hopefully there's enough good natured folk on the board at the moment that could contribut to the parts checklists for the categories. please please.

For 4 lug FC cars I believe you need 5 lug calipers, rotors, hubs, lines, and maybe something else. Not sure.

1. Rotors
2. Calipers
3. Hubs
4. Front Brake lines inc hard line. (Rear line is the same)
5. To make complete Brake Booster and larger Brake Fluid Container

complete 5 lug rear end assembly-diff, sub-frame, brakes, hubs, spindles the whole thing and for the front disconnect the tie rods and brake lines and unbolt the shocks at the top and sell the whole thing as a direct bolt in package! throw in 5 lug rims and l.s.d. diff's at an extra charge!

Right, it does make it easier to swap the whole assembly. But it also makes the cost of the swap 4 times as much. Plus its makes the shipping costs astronomical.

You can use the N/A front brake lines ifyou don't have the hard line from the 5 lug caliper. I helped a friend do the swap this way, and there have been no issues. You can even use the SS N/A brake lines.

With that said, the more hard line you have the better pedal feel you will get. Ever SS flexes a little.

Is the "spindle" portion (using the term loosely since I assume it's technically not called that on this car?) is the iron piece attached to back of the brake disc?

Sorry to be so slow in moving this along, gotta get orders & stuff out, but definitely working on it.

Still working on this. Are the control arms from the 5 lug car necessary for a proper swap?

No, the control arms are the exact same on every FC ever made.

Just take the Spindles, hubs and Brakes/calipers(whatever) off,as One complete unit,On each side of the car.IF it is a parts car, just snap the Hard lines at the Flex line.that way the Line set-up is there for the "next user".You don't need to Add the Control arms and Also, the 4 lug Brake Master is Sufficient to run the Five lug Brakes..the New Owner Does not Necessarily Have to Change those out, unless he Wants to...The Master Reservoir is THE SAME anyways..it is the Booster that is Bigger on the 5 lug,to that of the Four lug System...(I've done 4 Total Swaps..in 2 years..so I have a little "experience" on this particular subject.).
