On a s4 can i still use the same brakes when i switch to 5 lug? just a rotor and hub swap is what i'm hopping for or is there more to it? I know in the front i had to change the whole knuckle

Hey man, On the rear you have to take the whole hub out. As for the brakes i think you can use the same pads and caliper, though they might have different mounts i dont htink so. Only one way to find out. If i were you id just buy the whole deal.

The spacing inside of the rear calipers is wider, to fit the vented rear discs (if you're getting vented rear discs) so I doubt it'd fit without the calipers. I know my calipers were wider then the 4 lug ones.

damn yeah the calipers look different but i was hoping i wouldn't have to mess with all the brake stuff since i jest finished up that all up front and had a horrible time bleeding the system. so you think the only diff is that the 5 lug brake rotors are thicker? Anywhere where i could buy a brake rotor that would work with the old caliper from four lug and have the 5 lug holes?? Maybe i'll just drill 5 lug holesin my current rotors

Vented rear? Im not sure im familiar as to which model that came on. My five lug swap had a solid rear, maybe its an S5 thing, or an S5 turbo thing, as i doubt the S4 has it, though im no brake guru

86 gxl parts car i have has vented rear discs they aren't cross drilled or slotted just vented in the middle making them thicker thus the problem with the 4 lug calipers since they were desinged for the thinner no vented rotors which are about 1/4 inch think while the vented on the gxl are about 3/4s
