5 lug hub conversion
if i have a 1988 GTU, and want to swap out my rear hubs for the 5 lug hubs. what is the minimum required stuff to perform this?
i know i need:
5 lug hub rotors
5 lug hub
do i need the calipers? that's all i'm wondering...

I am not 100% sure. But I did this swap a few years ago and as I recall the rotors for the 5 lug are a fair bit larger then the 4 lug, so the 5 lug calipers are required so that they match the rotor.
It may be possible to use the 4 lug calipers but I know I switched mine when I did the conversion. I know I have a picture of the two side by side on an external drive I will see if I can find it later this evening

I don't believe the 88 GTU had 4 bolt hubs. I believe only the SE had 4 bolt hubs. If switching to 5 bolt hubs, get the front dome also, so you have the 4 piston front calipers!

well, the reason i only said the rear was because i bought my car with the front 5 lug converted and the rear still 4 lug. so this is why i've been asking for the rear only... but i forgot to check the front if they were the 4 pistons when i had my tires changed

Front and Back spindle and hub assemblies,Front Four Piston Brakes,Rear Single Piston Brakes WITH the Brackets...rear vented rotors,Front Vented Rotors...Left and Right Steel lines(that run between the caliper and the Flex line),..Flexline Front right and left.(if you want to do it Correctly. The Flexline from a four lug front setup WILL GO DIRECTLY ON to the 4 piston setup, but it is Tricky.)..
