5-6/Aux Port Activation Video -- to all those who've never seen their ports open...

For the newbies who've never been able to see their ports open because of a big ACV, Colt Start Assist, Intake, ect blocking the view...

I present you with what 0.3mb and a bunch of my wasted time delivers...

I had mine wired up to a RPM Switch, Relay and an Air Compressor. At about 3600 rpms Is where I set my Compressor to go off. Everytime It went off Is sounded like an epoleptic bull.

Glad this is helping someone, I figured it would help the peeps who have never seen the auxtors, let alone their sleeves. I remember back the day, when aux ports were magic.. lol

Thanks for the host dezerte

And im sure theres plenty of people that don't know they can, or how they work. The video is meant for them, not for sarcastic remarks.

Well maybe for sarcastic remarks...

No...

Edit: yes

supposedly over 3800 rpm, but in neutral i think you have to rev higher than that.

Under load only on S5's. S4s are under exhaust backpressure so they could probably be opened in neutral.

The S5's AUX ports' will open stock when...

-> Engine MUST be warm
-> over half throttle
-> under load (no netral)
-> over 3800rpm...ish

The S5's VDI solenoid (and actuator) will always open when
-> over half throttle
-> under load
-> over 5700rpm...ish

My tach is probably off a bit, I catch them coming online late sometimes-- 4100 and 6000.

Let me provide video of example...

EDIT: I would take a video of the VDI opening, but I don't like being anywhere near the engine bay at 6000 rpm

Ok

Video of aux port/vdi port indicators

Green LED: Aux port opening
Yellow LED: VDI port opening
Gauge: Manifold Vac

Part one: Idle to WOT
Part two: 2nd gear to 3rd gear pull

http://sheepdog.ar2engineering.net/p.../auxlights.wmv

Edit: yes the camera moves a bit. You try holding a camera with one hand, and steer and shift with the other on a curving road...
