90WhiteVrt, for future reference, "GTUs" is actually not plural of "GTU". They're talking slightly different models. Might check the stickies at the top of this forum for more details.

But if you really want a GTUs rear, keep looking and be patient. I found mine for a steal and it bolted up wonderfully to my 91 vert.

What the hell do you guys mean 6 and 7 inch differential?
I was told that the TII diff will fit in the NA? do you need to change like the housing that holds the differential too?

Now, i could be wrong...been a while since I researched this...but the NA dif and TII dif are not directly compatible with each other's half and drive shafts. There's several threads in the FC section that cover it...

The Turbo differentials (and FD diffs) use a 8 inch ring gear- making them 8" differentials, while the FC non turbos and the 94+ NA (miata) used a 7 inch ring gear, making the non turbo a 7" differential.

This of course means there are different cases (sometimes called pumpkins) as well, and pretty much makes it impossible to put a Turbo differential into a non turbo car, without replacing the whole differntial assembly including the pumpkin (and of course half shafts- since the Turbo half shafts are slightly shorter- and the driveshaft since the Turbo differntial assembly uses a different bolt pattern as size at the drive shaft).

Yea I know that. I thought you guys meant that it wouldn't fit into an NA subframe.

Turbo and non turbos use the same rear subframe for their respective year.

Its the differential housing and differential that is different sized.

FYI FB's use a 7" 3.909 and the SE had a 4.076 dif... It's common to swap in 99+miata 4.4's , Kia Sportage 4.875, and S2k RNP's.

THis thread was dead for 2 years before you brought it back trying to sell your rear end. For sale ads belong in the for sale section at the bottom of the board.
