It has nothing to do with the 5th and 6th ports.. that's rubbish. They can be closed and the car will function seemingly properly.

fyi it's 3800 not 3400 (the guy above this post) easily mistaken for 4000 rpm none the less.
where did you find this variable resistor pack?

ya where is this... i may have the same kind of problem and theres too many possible solutions... but ive yet to hear of this one.

other causes

I had a similar problem with my S4 NA and checked most of the sensors, replaced injectors etc. but eventually opened up my ECU and noticed one of the resistors was burnt and damaged.

You can open the ECU cover and visually inspect for burnt solder points or other burnt or broken pieces. It took me 15 minutes to pull the carpet back, pull the ECU and open the cover.

Just an fyi. Hope to help someone else.

Does anybody know what the ground goes to on top of the transmission? If so can you describe it or take a pic of where it is suppose to go. Plus i can't find anywhere to buy a new 6 port does anybody have one they wanna sell/
